Figures and sea
The Figures and Sea forms part of the “Hidden People” series, a reference drawn from the Icelandic tradition of Huldufólk (Icelandic for hidden people from huldu-"pertaining to secrecy”, and fólk— “people"). The paintings grow out of a fascination with telling the story of figures in landscape. I have an abiding interest in what is undefined and out of view to visual sight--the life of a figure that is reserved to their own thought and feeling.
